Beccles Duck Race

Beccles Duck Race

2013 Duck Race Was Held On September 1st 2013

A great day was had by all thank you to all those who helped make the day so successful.

Who could have imagined when an idea was brought to the Friends of St Benet's School by a well known local Beccles fundraiser (Jill Sillett) that nine years later the Duck Race would have been an annual event raising 1000's for local good causes and charities.
This year is no exception and 5000 has been raised for the Beccles Mayor's Appeal 2013-14 to go towards 2nd Beccles Sea Scouts 30,000 HQ extension and renovation project.
Donations of 650 were handed out to various local groups who stewarded on the day and who provided entertainment in the arena.

On Sunday 27th October the Duck Race Presentation Evening took place at Blyburgate Hall with heartfelt thanks given to all those businesses, people and organisations who helped make this another wonderful event.
Music was played by Alex from Moore Music Roadshow (who also provided music, radios and microphones on the day),
he also presented the trophy which he has sponsored to Terry Howes of Quayside Conservatories whose remote controlled duck won this race.
